Dear friends and sponsors of the fantail trust
More progress has been made. Finally the trap factory was able to open again and they sent us a new batch of traps which are now installed all along the walkway. They are doing good work. So far our numbers are 36 possums eliminated. That is quite a good number for the small area we are still confined to and only in six weeks. Of course more traps in the near future will greatly increase this number. It was quite frustrating to set this up during these times and now unfortunately I have to get a new hip which further delays the project. Luckily we have an assistant, Barry, who will be looking after the traps while I am recovering. As soon as I am able to walk again there will be no holding back and lots more traps will be installed. Thanks again for your support. It is all looking positive for the birds in the Rakaia Gorge.
